More than 600,000 people suffer from some form of dementia in Spain. Alzheimer's disease accounts for 60% of this figure. These numbers demonstrate the growing rate of neurodegenerative diseases in the health field. Through this agreement, which is valid for one year with possibility of renewal, Canaletas subsidize some of the foundations projects, which in 2007 treated nearly 4,000 patients, 500 more than the previous year. Alzheimer's is the most widespread disease among patients with neurodegenerative diseases, representing 59% of such ailments. ACE Foundation is involved in various projects designed to investigate this as well as clinical pharmacology trials, sponsoring studies of content and social or educational activities and awareness.
Canaletas, as Jordi Morera the company's general director explained, is a company aware of this social reality "and thus contributes" with the agreement reached with ACE to find a solution. "
