Bottled or tap water?

The demand for bottled water has been increasing worldwide since the beginning of 21st century. In 2004 the global consumption of bottled water was 154.000 million liters, 57% more than five years earlier. In 2011, according to National Association of Bottled Water Companies (ANEABE),the tendancy changed and the bottled water consumption in Spain became 107 liters per year per inhabitant.
As in everything else, both categories have their supporters. Following there are some arguments in favor of each choice.
In favor of tap water: is almost free, as good as bottled water, eco-friendly, avoid the intake of harmful substances from the bottle.
In favor of bottled water: avoid the chlorine, less likely to cause bacterial infections, avoid harmful substances from domestic water supply.
