Canaletas, a manufacturing company of water coolers and drinking fountains located in El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona),exporting to all five continents, counts on a growing presence in the countries of The Persian Gulf. One of the main projects of the brand has been the installation of its drinking fountains in the recently renewed University of Kuwait, one of the biggest educational centres at a worldwide level. Since its foundation, in 1996, the centre has undergoing a significant expansion, binding 16 scientific schools together. When the remodelling is finished, the centre will occupy 6 million square meters.
“This is an important project to us –explains Paz Ausín, Export Manager of the company–since the University of Kuwait is a university of reference and pioneer, which generates confidence with Canaletas for other projects that are being carrying out in the country”.
Canaletas, on its behalf, has an important presence in Middle East, where its drinking water fountains were selected to different projects. During last year, the company increased its export by 22% contributing to close the tax year with a sales growing of nearly 14%.
In this way Canaletas, with more than 50 years of experience in manufacturing drinking water fountains and water coolers, has established itself as a recognised global manufacturer, present in more than 50 countries, with more than 800 distributors. The development of new products and the entry into the new markets has enabled Canaletas face the crisis on those last years, which have been tough for the sector. “We have strived –explains Jordi Morera, CEO of Canaletas– to maintain a growth in sales relying on export, without forgetting the domestic market, which last year showed some improvement.
Canaletas is present in more than 50 countries, which has allowed it to obtain a great knowledge in the different areas of the sector, being able to adapt its products according to the different habits of consumption and requirements of each market. The company, which has always considered essential R&D, offers a wide sort of products, with more than 40 models of water coolers for covering the needs of use, performance and its clients’ budgets. “The capacity of adapting itself to the clients’ needs, the creativity of our R&D laboratory and the experience gained in the market for more than 50 years is what allow us to maintain a continued growing,” points Jordi Morera.
