The bottled water industry created a guide to good hygiene practices

ANEABE, the National Association of Bottled Drinking Water, has submitted a 'Guide to Good Hygiene Practice in the industries of bottling drinking water' after two years of work. Recognized and approved by the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN),the document establishes hygienic procedures based on the criteria of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). It also proposes measures to ensure the organoleptic quality of water that are also used in the bottle water coolers.
The guide is a reference model for the water packaging sector together with the manual of the European Federation of Bottled Waters (EFBW). It treats all manufacturing processes related to bottled water, including retrieval, packaging, labeling, personal hygiene and transport, among others.
The publication of this document confirms the sector's commitment to improving water quality standards and its growing position in health. Also the manufacturers of drinking water fountains and water coolers considered a priority the hygiene in their water coolers.
